Behne Inc. has served the trucking industry since 1970, hauling grain and now as a flatbed and specialized carrier traveling the 48 states and Canada.

We are looking for owner operators who are team players and want to make money.  We do a lot of LTL work this puts more money on the truck with as few miles as possible.  Better to spend a little extra time loading then sending the profits up the stack putting miles on with a half loaded trailer.

In the year 2004 our owner operators averaged $132,000.00.  Our highest paid owner operator earned $160,000.00.  The revenue is based solely on the amount of miles you wish to travel.  We do not have a forced dispatch and your home time is as you want it.  We realize families are important and we work around those issues.

SAFETY is the word of this organization.   All operators and drivers must complete a safety seminar in Sherburn, MN.  A current physical and drug screen will be required and random drug testing will be performed according to the DOT rules and regulations.

To assure safety of all equipment, a yearly certified inspection report is required on all trucks and trailers.  A non-certified inspection report is required monthly for your file.  Any leased operator with their own trailer must have reflective tape on it.  This is a very important safety feature for night driving.  Safety is the key word to a good and profitable year.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 23 or older

• No DWI or DUI in last 3 years

• Minimum 2 years experience

• No Felony convictions

• One allowable accident.

• Hazmat NOT required  (Depending on circumstances)

• Most shippers today are requesting air ride tractors and trailers

• Each tractor should be equipped with Headache Rack

• 4 Tarps of Various Sizes

• 2 ~ 14 x 16

• 1 ~ 24 x 28

• 2 ~ 20 x 24

• 12 Chains 3/8” x 20’ Grade 70

• 13 Binders

• 2 Ratchet Straps

• 12 Straps ~ 4" x 30’

• 4 ~ Portable Winches
   

COMPENSATION ~ ALL LOADS HAULED BY LEASED OPERATORS WILL BE PAID!!!  YOU GET PAID WHETHER THE COMPANY DOES OR NOT!
If you pull a company trailer, the compensation is 70% of the gross of the load.  If you have your own trailer compensation is 77% of the gross of the load.  Our current average company revenue per mile is $1.80 gross to the truck, for all miles.   Drop and pickup charges would be paid at the 70% or 77% rate.  Any tarp charge (which is seldom) would be paid 90% to the truck.  Fuel surcharges are paid at 100% to the truck.  All bills turned in by Thursday are paid on the Friday of the following week.

The company pays the liability and cargo insurance, fuel decals and authority.  All OD permits are ordered and paid by the company.  We offer company fuel cards which can give fuel and other discounts, prepass transponders and cell phones.
 

INSURANCE
Each operator will be responsible for the first $2500.00 of any cargo or liability claim.  Deductible insurance policies from your local insurance agent are available at reasonable cost to cover the deductible amount. 

There is a $2500.00 per truck escrow to be used toward any accident.  The escrow account builds from $100.00 per week deduction until the $2500.00 is reached.

Physical damage insurance is your responsibility however you can purchase it through the company and at present we have a very competitive rate from our insurance carrier.
 

LICENSE
The owner-operator is responsible for the base plate license.  We encourage you to license in your own name and in your own state.  If you need help preparing the forms, we would be happy to assist you.  You can license under Behne Inc if you prefer.  If this type of work arrangement is what you are looking for we are interested in talking to you!
